Pacific Touch is owned and operated by Martin Banford. Martin started his working life in the field of antique furniture restoration, but after nearly a decade in that occupation, he changed course to qualify as an optometrist. This new profession took him from his native England to work in places as far afield as New Zealand, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and even a spell of voluntary work in Belize, where he performed eye exams in the Mayan villages of the the Belizean rainforests, before settling back in the UK.

In 2014, his pregnant wife returned to the USA, to her home of Huntington Beach, California. Unfortunately his UK optometry credentials are not accepted in the US, so he became a full-time father to his son, and before too long, his daughter too. After his children started school, Martin qualified as a massage therapist.

He is an alumni of the CalCopa Massage School in Huntington Beach, and since graduating, he has undertaken further studies to expand his repertoire of bodywork modalities to be able to offer additional services such as hot stone massage, pregnancy massage and lymphatic drainage. In 2023 he attained the title of Myotherapist, and is currently working towards his goal of becoming a Holistic Healthcare Practitioner. 

Pacific Touch has been created to cater to those who wish to enjoy the benefits of massage and bodywork within the comfort of their own home. Martin’s passion for his current career is obvious to anyone who has experienced his touch, be it for relaxation or rehabilitation.
